JOSEPHINE SAMS

Josephine Sams is a UK based mixed media artist who works mainly with paint, found objects and textiles, often using a sewing machine as a way of drawing.
Her work is inspired by journeys and the architecture of the places she visits; each piece is personal and stirs memories. 
Working from her own photographs, Sams creates paintings and mixed-media works that capture a moment and a sense of place.
She uses stitch and thread to extend the image beyond the usual limits of the frame, bringing movement to the subject and gently breaking its boundaries.
