I was born and raised in the Suffolk countryside, close to my hometown of Bury St Edmunds, and many of my works draw on the landscapes and places I grew up with. The combination of open fields, historic streets and quiet corners fostered my early love of both nature and architecture.

I went on to study Fine Art at the University of Lincoln, another city with a rich architectural character that further fuelled my interest in buildings, structures and the spaces we move through.

After leaving Lincoln, I lived in Shropshire teaching outdoor education, spending much of my time in the landscape and deepening my connection to the natural environment. I then moved onto a narrowboat in Northamptonshire, where I completed my PGCE in art education and continued to explore new surroundings and communities.

I now live in Cambridgeshire with my partner and daughter, where I work as a secondary and A level art and textiles teacher. Across all of these locations, the combination of countryside, historic towns and changing viewpoints has shaped my practice and my ongoing fascination with nature, architecture and the act of exploring.
